NEC Revises Documents for the Contract Recruitment Exam and Journalist Registration Application

PHNOM PENH: On Thursday morning, 9 February 2023, National Election Committee (NEC) Chairman, Prach Chan, held a meeting to review documents related to the short-term contract selection exam and the application to register as a journalist for the 7th National Assembly Election 2023.

After careful review and discussion, the NEC decided to revise the content of some documents, while agreeing in principle on the documents as a whole.

The NEC has decided to recruit 814 short-term contracted officials to work in the secretariats of the 25 Capital and Provincial Election Commissions.

The committee revised the recruitment announcement made through the media, the notification on the conditions for the recruitment of short-term contracted officials, the letter to the president of the election secretariat, the decision on establishing an exam organizing committee, instructions on the exam procedures, internal rules for examinations, and the calendar for the exam recruiting officers for the provincial election secretariats.

Relevant documents needed to register as a national or international journalist for the 7th National Assembly Election 2023 include a notification on the submission of applications, journalist registration application forms, and the curriculum vitae (CV) of both national and international journalists (Khmer and English).

NEC Chairman, Prach Chan, emphasized that the independence of the NEC must be based on the rule of law.

He advised election officials at all levels to work hard to strengthen the implementation of the election law and the rules and regulations of the election, to effectively and equally provide services to all stakeholders.
